The highly anticipated release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been marred by unforeseen challenges, leading to frustration among eager gamers. However, the journey to its launch has been far from smooth.
Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Release Date
“Kill the Justice League was announced in August 2020 and was scheduled to be released in 2022, but was delayed multiple times.” The game, initially announced in August 2020, faced multiple delays before its scheduled release on February 2, 2024.
The excitement surrounding the game’s release reached its peak as fans anticipated the thrilling experience on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. The release was highly anticipated, promising an immersive gaming experience set in the DC Universe.
Early Access Dilemma
The release took an unexpected turn during the early access period for deluxe edition owners, starting on January 29. Players who invested an additional $30 for the Deluxe Edition were granted early access, with users in Australia and New Zealand gaining the privilege on January 30, 72 hours ahead of the official launch.
However, the excitement was short-lived due to a significant bug that plagued the early access launch.
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s early access launch was cut short due to a bug that automatically completed players’ games.”
The Bug Debacle
The bug, discovered immediately after players logged into the required servers, marked all save files as fully completed, despite just starting the game. This critical issue forced Rocksteady Studios to take drastic action within an hour of the launch, pulling the game servers offline.
“We’re aware that several players are currently experiencing an issue whereby upon logging into the game for the first time, they have full story completion,” Rocksteady Studios acknowledged in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance on the game servers.”
Frustration and Ongoing Issues
The frustration among players escalated as the servers remained offline for several hours. Rocksteady Studios assured players that they had identified the problem affecting player profiles and were actively working on a solution.
“We hope to implement it and have the game back online as soon as possible,” added the developers.
Despite the assurance of a fix, the lack of an offline mode in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League intensified the dissatisfaction among players. The promise of adding an offline mode post-launch offered some relief, but the release date for this update remains uncertain.
Apology and Updates
“We are aware that some players are experiencing an issue where, upon logging into the game for the first time, they complete the entire story. To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance tasks on the game servers.
During this time, the game will not be available. We expect this to last for several hours and will inform you when we have more information. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Five hours later, Rocksteady Studios provided a follow-up statement, indicating progress in identifying the issue affecting player profiles and testing a solution. The company expressed hopes of implementing the fix promptly and having the game back online.
